8th Annual St Croix 5-Mile Coral
Reef Swim
Welcome to the 2003 edition of the
St. Croix Coral Reef Swim. We look forward to those friends who will
return to share the excitement and to those who will make this year’s event
their first. Once again, all the
activities will take place around the beautiful Buccaneer Resort, St. Croix,
United States Virgin Islands, and Buck Island, a US National Monument named as
“one of the world's top ten beaches.” (National Geographic)

mention that you are coming for the Coral Reef Swim.)
Course: The
5-Mile swim begins with a boat ride to Buck Island. You will then swim from the shores of Buck Island, through 2
miles of crystal clear water before reaching the coastline of St. Croix. The swim continues along the shore,
through colorful reefs and sandy bottoms, and finishes at the main beach
of St. Croix’s premiere destination resort, The Buccaneer.
Water
temperature is expected to be between 78 and 81 degrees F. Wetsuits are not allowed. Bring lots of sunscreen!
Entry Fee: $90.00 per
swimmer. Fee
includes Welcome Dinner, Award’s Barbecue, t-shirt, and swim cap.

Taxi fee of $4.00 is not included and will be
collected at registration/check in.

Entry Fee for on-island (St. Croix Residents)
in the 5-Mile Junior Division is $45.00; dinner not included.

Approximately
200 entries will be accepted for the 5-Mile swim. Those entries arriving after the limit is reached or after the
event is closed will not be accepted.
Please read all of the following information carefully before you enter.
Times and event schedules are subject to change. It is your responsibility to check in at The
Buccaneer upon arrival in St. Croix for any last minute changes. It is also mandatory that you attend all of
the event meetings.
Updates or
additional information may be posted on the website http://www.randynutt.com/aqua9.html. In addition, information related to these
events is sometimes sent to our mailing list.
We use a managed e-mail list and you must add yourself if you wish to be
included on these mailings. If your
email changes, you will have to re-enter your new email address. Updates and event info, if any, will be sent
to those on the list. To join this

It is a good idea
to confirm with your airline their requirements for travel (passport,
identification, documents, baggage limits etc.) well in advance of your
trip and as we get closer to the event confirm all flight schedules.
We recommend a racecourse tour and/or a
snorkeling trip to Buck Island prior to the event. To arrange a trip, or for other water sport activities, contact Mile

coming for the swim. Discounted trips will become available as we get closer to
the event.
Confirmation
of entry is your cashed check. Due to the nature and complexity of this
event there will be no refunds for any reason including event cancellation.

Please read these instructions from American carefully and follow them exactly.

I recommend that all travel arrangements and payments with American be
done as soon as possible.
INSTRUCTIONS:
American/AE agrees to provide, in compliance with applicable law round-trip,
coach-class tickets at the following discounted fares:
Bulk fares or lowest published fares (whichever is lower at time of ticketing)
waiving rules and restrictions.
All federal, state, and local taxes will be the responsibility of the ticket
user. Any applicable customs federal inspection fee will also be the
responsibility of the ticket user.
To make reservations, please call American Airlines 1-787-791-3939, refer to
starfile CRB PROMO MEDIA. Make your reservations in coach-class. Get a Record
Locator from agent, and e-mail it to Isis Molina at

together with Name(s) of passengers, your address, phone, fax, and email.
Isis will let you know the applicable fare. Then if you want to purchase the
ticket(s) fax or email your credit card number and expiration date to Isis.
All ticket requests/record locators should be received by American Airlines
Atlantic office in Miami at least thirty (30) days prior to departure.
Payment for tickets must be received in our office at least thirty (30) days
prior to departure. If payment is not received, and tickets are not issued by
this office, or an American Airlines designated agent, thirty (30) days
before departure date, reservations may be automatically canceled. Any changes
(including name changes) made to tickets after issuance, and refunds, are
subject to One-hundred dollar ($100) administrative service fees.
No upgrades will be made by reservations or at the airport. Passengers may not
pay the difference from Coach to First Class. Any unauthorized First Class
reservation made purposely or by error will be canceled immediately.
Transportation will be valid from October 18, 2003 until November 1, 2003. Allotted tickets must be used during this
validity period. Validity dates for promotional tickets will not be extended.
(Certain blackout dates apply).
Passengers must originate and terminate in the American Airlines' city nearest
to city of residence providing direct service. Direct service is travel on a
published routing between two points, and any connection must be a standard
connection for that route. Transportation on other carriers, ground
transportation and overnight lodging, if required, will not be at the expense
of American. Stopovers are not permitted, and tickets are not transferable or
refundable. The tickets are further considered void and forfeited if sold for
cash.
