24th ANNUAL "THE VICTOR" SWIM AROUND KEY WEST HOSTED BY: Aqua Moon Adventures, Florida Keys Community College, with Anna Fugina Pennella, Event Founder, Key West. DATE: Saturday, June 17th, 2000. RACE TIME: Race begins at 8:00 am LOCATION: The Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico - around the island of Key West, Florida. COURSE: 12.5 miles around Key West, clockwise full circle around the entire island. Start and finish at the Key West Smathers Beach Bertha Street boat ramp. CHECK-IN/PRE-RACE Friday, June 16th, 2000. Check-in at Florida Keys Community College Tennessee Williams Fine Arts Center and Auditorium from 4:30-5:30 pm. From 5:30 - 6:30 pm the event rules and course will be discussed - this is a MANDATORY MEETING for all swimmers and crew. Important event details and possible changes will be discussed. ENTRY FEE: $65.00 per entrant. Enter early as RACE WILL CLOSE when full and no later than April 30th 2000. All Relay teams must mail all six or three applications in at the same time, or you will not be entered. Designate a team captain as a central contact to mail in your forms to make this easier. Substitutions after April 30th will result in a $10 administrative fee. No changes after June 1st.

EVENT CATEGORIES: AWARDS: Medals will be presented to the top 10 overall individual swimmers. Also, the top three places in each division will receive medals. The top 10 MASTERS over 40, both male and female, will receive awards. Time and location of the Awards Ceremony will be given at the mandatory pre-race meeting. OTHER HOTELS: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Look for additional information and updates at www.thevictor.com ESCORTS: SWIMMERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING THEIR OWN ESCORT CRAFT (BOAT, OR RECOMMENDED - KAYAKS - FOR REDUCED FUMES WHILE SWIMMING). Swimmers are also responsible for providing their own support crew. Do not wait until race weekend to make these arrangements. All marine safety rules must be observed. Team swims: one boat per team. Each swimmer must be accompanied by their escort boat for the entire duration of the swim. NO ESCORT BOAT - NO SWIM! Swimmers may not touch their boat with the exception of team swims and then only at designated relay change points where entry and exits are made. We recommend that you rent a boat and circle Key West prior to the day of the race to familiarize yourself with the course. Make arrangements to pick up your escort craft allowing enough time to get to the event start.
